Two years ago today I made this post on Facebook. I feel it’s still very much relevant now, so why not make it my starter blog… lol…

My white coworker (whom I’m cool with) just sat here & watched a Facebook video of these African Americans ripping a confederate flag off a white mans truck & said “so it’s okay for them to walk around with a red black & green flag (pan African flag), but they have an issue with white people having confederate flags”… Well for one, The three Pan-African colors on the flag represent: Red: the blood that unites all people of Black African ancestry, and shed for liberation; Black: black people whose existence as a nation, though not a nation-state, is affirmed by the existence of the flag; and power. Green: the abundant natural wealth of Africa.. With no negative connotation associated with it, how can it be compared to the confederate flag when the Confederate battle flag has been a flashpoint for racial tensions for decades. Its supporters say it is a symbol of Southern heritage, while anyone with a brain & knowledge of Americas history can argue that this flag represents slavery & racism. When has the Pan African flag ever offended anyone with logical reason…? Lol. I’m just saying, educate yourselves.. #GoodEveningBTW 😊
